Week 79 50th anniversary of Colombia, being open to missionary service!!

Thanks Mom for the email it is always good to read about what is going on back home. I'm glad that you are all having fun and enjoying life! And hopefully you will make the most out of these last few weeks of school!

Okay well lets see....

Miercoles: we had the mission activity that mom stated in her eamil for the 50 years the church has been here in Colombia and it was super cool! We were able to read the prayer that President Kimball gave to dedicate the country to preach the gospel so that way Chevere!! Then we were honored to hear from our president   , and them Elder Camargo, and also 2 missionaries that are from Colombia so that was neat. Later we cleaned up the park, and then went and ate pizza, overall it went really great!

Jueves : We had our planning secesion, and then we had to run some errands , but luckily after dropping some  stuff off for the mission, it was 3pm when we got back and since we didnt have lunch this day, we went to KFC and after 3pm they have 50% off discount on their combos so my lunch was like $3 so that was cool! later we did lots of contacting it was good. Contacting  is so much fun with my new companion!

Viernes: Friday the 13th ...... oh  no.........
Well it rained in the morning but that didnt stop us from going out and contacting and we actually found a few people interested in listening to us so that was awesome! then we went to lunch and had Big foot , in a chilly soup, and it actually wasnt too bad:) Maybe I will have to make it for you guys when I get back:) . Then later we had a lesson with DarĂo which went well we watched a video about our eternal potential about the hatchet. You guys have proabably seen it, and if not FHE activity for tonight , because it is super cool!

Saturday: We had an interview with a young man who was doing a project for school , and his family came a long , so we had a lesson with them , and now the other missionaries are going to visit them because they dont live in our boundries , but it was a cool experience! later we had a correlation meeting , and that went well. And then we had a lesson with the Cardenas family , and now we have a NDH with them tonight. Hopefully they will start coming back to church!

Domingo : Church was good, We had a good lesson with a Less active member, and then we did a lot of contacting which was awesome. over all it was a good day!

Hoy. We went to the mall to eat , and look at some things , nothing to exciting, maybe because you know me and I hate spanding money even on the smallest things jaja:p

Anyways I hope the best for you back home. You guys are my heros ! Be strong !

Week 78 happy Mother's Day/ transfers I am staying here

Thanks Mom it was great talking with you guys again, and dont worry Im not trunky Mom , even though you guys might be jaja.

Well I dont have a whole lot to say, as of this week , because we just talked. But some of things that I learned this week is that there are people prepared every where to hear our message, if we are only willling to open our mouths to share this beautiful message. Also enduring. This week has definetly been one of the hardest in the mission, with having lessons, because no one really had time, and also no one is really progressing, but at the end of the week we had 2 amazing lessons with 2 less actives, that we havent been able to teach in like a month. It was a huge tender mercy from God!

Anyways Sunday was super cool! The talks were really great about the importance of mothers in God´s plan. Later in priesthood there has a brother visting form Utah and he didnt speack spanish at all and didnt really understand it either, so I had the privledge of translating for him, that was cool, Because it was the first time I've  done it in the mission! Anyways in the class we talked about living by the spirit and not by the law. But the only way can do that is if at first we are completing with law. It was super inspiring for me, and really powerful!

Also we had tranfers this week..... pause for dramatic effect....... Im ......Staying here:) And my comp is going to Chia my old area , and he will be Zone Leader so that was legit. He was a little nervous but I know he will do great!Anyways my new companion is from Ecuador, but he wont get here until Tuesday , and so I am with Lopez right now helping with other Transfers. I am hoping to make the best of this next transfer, and to end with no regrets!
I love you all I hope you have a great week ! And Jacob keep pratcing Bro!

That is awesome Kman congratulations broham, know just 10 more years and you will be ready to go on a mission so crazy but so awesome bro! And Im super glad to read that everything is going good back home , it is weird that we will be talking with each other in 2 weeks , I feel like we just talked , and even more so it will be my last call home , so crazy! Where does time go? Anyways you are going to come up with some good questions to ask , or think of some right now so you are prepared , and you should give me some advise , like about collge and all that good stuff :)

 Anyways this week in Colombia:
Martes: We went to look at an apartment because right now it kind of stinks living 4 with one bathroom! But I guess it could be worse, so i wont complain. Later we did some contacting but no one really wanted to listen to us but thats all good.

Miercoles: It was Elder Lopez Birthday, yeah i know 4-20 jaja, and yea we made brownies ;) We had the zone conference which went alright, then I went with E Tipton on intercambios and we took Da_ to the temple then to seminaries , so that was super legit!! Later we had a lesson with the Family Ca_  , which went well . But we are still having problems getting all the people we teach to church:(.

Jueves: We had lunch with some of the investigators form the other elders , and well is is super coll because they have a cross fit thing in their garage ! So I think next monday we are going to go do crossfit!!Later we had super good conact in the street and we have a lesson set up for this week so we will see how that goes!
Viernes we had a lesson with one of our investigators but halfway throught the lesson he just got and said well i need to go and left jaja

Sabado : all our lessons fell through so we had to walk a lot !

Domingo: Well on the way to church it rained on us so that was cold the whole day , and well I cuaght a cold , then we had lunch with the bishop and had cake because it was his bday that was super cool! Then we had an FHE where we shared the video of Lots with and how we shouldnt look back and live in the past, but look forward with hope in the future so that was legit  too!

Scripture for the week

Week 75 Elder Montoya, and Elder Oaks came to Bogota

Wow sounds like you guys had a long busy week , Full of many adventures. That is crazy Kman is eight years old , time goes by so fast! Tell jacob to practice using spanish with dad , and just try to speak it! It is way worth learning as much as you can while you are in high school!  That is awesome that you were able to talk to him. Yeah I got 2 letters from her that were super nice. I did write a letter for their family but i still havent sent it, because im trying to think of a cool gift to send  everyone for the Bdays. Ideas? Wow just where i need to be for stake conference jaja , ya casi ;)

Anyways this week in Col.....

Martes: We recieved bunkbeds so that is new , also I'm on the top so it is like home again! Then it rained really hard after lunch , and just to say we got soaked!

Miercoles: My comp gave a good lesson on patience. Which is what I needed , because i have been losing it lately , but now when i am about to Sacar la pierda with something i tell my self have patience! Anyways then we found an investigator , and we helped him build birdhouses for service that was cool! Then we had a good lesson with one of our  investigators about the BoM.

Jueves: We had a lesson with D_ he still hasnt come to church , but hopeully today we can go with him to seminary. Later we had a lesson with G_  a member about the importance of Christ , and then we talked a while and he wants to go on vistits with us so that is awesome!

Viernes: We had the opportunity to hear from Elder Montoya which was super cool! he talked alot about the desires to serve like ammon so that was cool! He also tlaked about how one of Satans most powerful tools is doubt , and how we need to strenghten our testimonies everyday to fight off doubt.  Oh I also got a package from Grandpa and Grandma McGuire so that was awesome, and I was excited to wear my new tie!

Saturday: WE had salchipapa for lunch which was good, oh then Elder Tipton bought a Cherry Dr Pepper , I dont know where he found it but I was so happy! Then later in the night we had a super cool contact in the street, we passed by a man that shouted out ¨Salt Lake¨ so  of course I turned around to talk with him and found out that he has talked with the missionaries before, and he says that we are more then welcome to come to his house , the coolest thing ever , because that doesnt happen everyday in Bogota!

Domingo: WE also had stake conference it was good it was a region confernce , and so there was apostles that spoke, it was like a mini general conference. Also Elder Oaks  attemped to speak some spanish which was cool! Anyways that was pretty much our week . Still havent bought a baterry for my camera but hopefully soon. Alright love you , and have a great week!

Week 73 love general conference!!!!!

Wow Mom that was my favorite quote too! Even though it was super short both of his talks they were great! I agree I miss his stories too! That is cool there was a talk given in conference the priesthood session about , how marriage , and how to strength a maariage is like a garden knid of. He said how we need to take out the weeds , and water the flowers , or in other words ,  as we look for what is good in the person we will only find good in the person , so that was super cool! And I love that talk What  Lack I Yet? it is super amazing one of my favorites! Lucky missionaries !!!!

okay so this week in COL....

Martes : Well lunch cancelled on us , so luckily we had some coupons to KFC so that was good! Then we had a super good lesson with Dario about not living under our privliges , Uchtdorf gave a talk on it about the man who went on the cruise , and but only stayed in his cabin the whole time eating beans, that was a great lesson.

Miercoles: It down poured here, but luckily we were close to a PanaderĂa so we ate pan , and chocolate! then we had 3 good lessons set up that night but because there was no one to come visit with us we had to cancel all the lessons! ughhh!!!

Jueves: Went alright , we had our weekly planning session , and then we had one lesson , but nothing too excting happened this day.

Viernes: We had a interviews with President Laney it was super good talking with him , he thanked me for serving as zone leader then he told me , just because you are not zone leader any more doesn't mean you are not a leader , he told me that I needed to help my Companion to become a future leader in the mission and also after the mission , help him learn how to lead so that was cool! He  also gave me a lot of great advice which I am super thankful for he is amazing and I know he has been called of God!

Sabado: Conference, went super well I loved it ,just like always the preisthood session had to be my favorite , the spirit is just so strong , and I can just feel the power overwhelm the building during the priesthood session it is so awesome , I do miss going with Dad , Seth , and Jacob to watch it , but I'm  glad thay are still keeping the tradition going. I like how all of it was focused on the family and temple marriage to was  so Chevere!!!

Lunes: Well I'm almost finshed with my application to BYUI , i think there are a few things I have left, like one essay , and I need to rewrite both of the other essays because they were wriiten with little time , but I think by the end of the month it should be good to go!

Also it was super cool to see a program of the deseret farm in florida and see familiar faces !!!

Remeber ,¨there is nothing good unless you do it¨-Uchtdorf
oh I also hope you all learning german lol ;)

love you all have a good week!

Week 72

Okay well easter here is called Semana Santa, for the whole week , a huge Cathoilic tradition , I image it is pretty big in Spain too! But here it is crazy , I dont know how people can become so crazy about it , and it is really different , but anyway there were a lot of holidays during the week which meant there wasnt a lot of people home. Also there was like 3 futbol games this week , so everyone was watching those , and nobody wanted to listen to us :( ; but it was cool because USA almost beat Colombia , but they tied 1-1, but they paly again tomorrow , so we probably have no lessons tomorrow :( , and if USA wins , pailas!!!! no lessons for like 2 weeks jaja ;) But for easter it is mostly going to the catholic church , and thats about it, but no eggs or easter bunny , thank goodness jaja. However , the other Elders bought chocolates eggs for easter so I guess we had our own easter in our own way.
So we had a few lessons which went well , but we are still having trouble on getting people to come to church! We did have a really cool experience while at church , a man came in because it called his attention and he is looking for a church to attend , and he said he is moving into the area from Sogamoso , and he told me he is coming to church this sunday for general conference that will be cool , but I think he lives in the area of the other Elders but thats okay it is still the same work:) Also well today was Cambios ( transfers) Im staying here at least 6 more weeks, with my comp so hopefully we will get some work done!!
Well there isnt much else to tell , but Sunday in priesthood, there was a man who gave the lesson who looks just like Robin Williams , and the way he taught the class was like him too, it was sooo funny, and way cool , and spiritual !
Well my challenge for you all this week that , is you can follow Jareds example and invite one person to listen to General Conference! Also that you can share the new video , that the church made for easter! I can't  wait to hear how it went !!! :)
LOve you all,
Elder Fuerte!:)

Week 71 CCM reunion

On Mar 21, 2016, at 3:10 PM, Tyler Strong <tyler.strong@myldsmail.net> wrote:

That is awesome that you enjoyed spring break and that everyone had a good time and no one got hurt , welll that was at home jaja! I hope Seth heals fast!

Well this was a pretty fast week . but I'll think of some of things that happened....

Martes: I found Hno. Julio from Chia , in my new ward because his job is cleaning the chapels . so that was super legit i was able to talk with him and catch up with all the details , about what was going on back in Chia while my comp was in a meeting so that was awesome!

Mericoles: we had intercambios with the Zone leaders, I went with Elder Lopez and it was pretty good! He is an awesome Zone leader!

Jueves we had a lesson with Dario about the strength of youth , and it was great !!! Then we had a lesson with the family Bustamante , members , about sharing the gospel it when super well , we asked if they knew anyone , that would be interested in learning about the gospel and he just started writing like 10 names , and tried to think of more it was awesome even if they all live in the area of the other Elders. It was great to see the work go forth in the work of Salvation!

Viernes: We had a pretty direct lesson with a less active to try to get her to come to church , but I dont know , because she always has an excuse to come ...but we will keep working with her on that.

Domingo: Well i was a little stressed in the morning , but later after taking the sacrament , and listening to talks , is just what I needed , I know that the Sacrament is so important for everyone of us , not just to help with sins , but everything, becasue his atonement covers everything in our lifes! Also after ward we had a really cool contact with a older man , first we said hi and passed him , and then I had a feeling that I needed to talk with him , so after walking about 20 steps we returned , and he is awesome so friendly ,he was   plantling trees as a service for the community and it just reminded me so much of dad , and I got the a smalll feeling that we needed to talk with him anyways , long story short , he was one of the only people to actually listen to what we had to  say like this whole time in this area, so that was awesome , and HE invited us this week to pass by to talk , so that was super cool , made my week!

Lunes. Today well was pretty awesome , went to the temple , played futbol , and ate at McDonalds, so yeah doesn't get much better for a pday! :)

I hope all is going well back home , btw , how are you doing with your missonary work ?
love you all so much , have a great week , Elder Strong:)
